Stop With The Excuses!!!!
So, I wanted to share this and figured that this is the best place to do it. It was one of those moments when I found that I had to stand still and bite my tongue and really almost bit it completely off.
I was standing in line at a restaurant. There were 2 women in front of me. They were approximately my age so I could relate as far as that goes. As they were having this conversation with each other, I was not the only one that could have heard this conversation. Their discussion was about their health and their lifestyle, so to speak. They were ordering off the menu that did not have a lot of what you would call healthy choices. One woman said tot the other......
"Well, I went to see my doctor the other day and they asked if I was watching what I was eating and working on my cholesterol and exercising. I of course said, No! Who in the world has time for that right now at the holidays and year end stuff going on. I just decided that I will just not worry about it until next year and then figure it out. "
The other woman....
She totally agreed with her and she is just going to eat and enjoy her holidays and she will do something later IF SHE HAS TIME.
Let me just tell you, I WAS DYING!!!!!! My brain was going 100 miles an hour and I could have just vomited fitness, healthy living and healthy lifestyle all over them.
I could have given them the statistics.
I could have preached at them.
I could have tried to convince them to change
I could have given them my business card
I could have literally GONE OFF!
The question is.....what good would it have done?
Absolutely NONE!!!!!
They had already determined that they were NOT interested.
They had resolved to do NOTHING right now.
They are WAITING until after the HOLIDAYS!
Here is my take and what I would have shared if I had known them....I mean really know them.
I would have encouraged them to not wait. Start today. Start simple and easy. Allow your self a cheat meal a week at that Christmas Party and then keep moving with your workouts. If you allow yourself to just "eat whatever and however much" you want, you will likely gain anywhere between 5-10 pounds and now you have added that to where you are and you have that much more to loose. Not to mention, your blood pressure is up because of additional sodium and the extra sugar and the not so healthy foods at these awesome Holiday parties.
PLEASE DON'T WAIT!!!!!!!
Today is your day!
I can't do it for you.
You have to want it.
Are you ready?
Are you afraid of failure?
Let's do this!!!!!!
