I play this song. Yes, It's POD. I know I am 40-ish. It reminds me everytime I hear it to be praying for our youth. The school shootings, suicides and other tragedies that happen on a daily basis. Listen and read the lyrics. PRAY FOR OUR YOUTH!!!!!

I Survived!!!!
I can't believe it! I actually did it!!!! I survived week 1 of P90X! I am absolutely sore in places I didn't know I had. I didn't give up. I didn't skip a workout! I watched my food! I'm here to tell you it has been INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!
Have you ever done P90X? It is absolutely wonderful!!!!! Things to remember (I discovered) are the following.....
1. Don't freak out if you can't do EVERYTHING on the DVD.
2. Do what you can for as long as you can.
3. Get excited about it!
4. Work as hard as you can
5. Do the warm up and do the cool down!!!!! That is a must!!!!!!
So, next week is week 2.....I'm ready!!!!!!!

NO EXCUSES!!!!
There are NO EXCUSES!!!!! I mean NONE!!!!!!!
The other day I told you about the P90X program that I am
doing. This was the kicker for me. I have had the program for about 2years. I couldn't find my "plan" that
tells you what DVD you do next. I decided while I was trying to find it, I
would do some of the videos and work my way into it so to speak.
Well I popped in the Plyometrics DVD. This is basically jump training. At first when Tony Horton comes on he talks
about how this is the toughest one. I'm
thinking I have lost my head. Then the
DVD starts and he introduces the people on the video with him. I was not prepared for this....... Remember,
this is jump training, Plyometrics........one of the people has a prosthesis on
his right leg!!!!!HELLO!!!!!!! I HAVE NO
EXCUSE WHAT SO EVER!!!!!!!!
I LOVE jump training.
Can I get the rhythm done and get both feet off the floor at the same
time? Not yet but I am NOT going to give
up. That is NOTan option!!!!!!! He inspires me every time I put that DVD
IN!!!!!
What inspires you?
What motivates you to
go and do it all again?
Game on,
Pam

Stay Slim Tricks
Health Magazine (Health.com) January/February 2013 had a success story about a woman named Michelle deGennaro. These are her Stay Slim Tricks
Track Your Progress
My Fitbit, which counts my steps, distance, and calories, gives me that extra bit of motivation to keep going. I like seeing I've logged at least 10 miles on workout days.
Scale It Back
I don't weigh myself daily-if I'm up by even 1 pound, it does a number on my head. Instead, I step on the scale just once a week and in general, judge my progress by the way I look and feel.
Schedule a Semi Splurge
I allow some flexibility on weekends. Every Friday night, for instance, my youngest daughter and I go out for pizza. It's my reward for eating healthy all week.
I think a lot of us do these things which are all GREAT!!!! If not, give them a try!!!!!!!!

Your Perfect Plate
Best Breakfast
OATMEAL
This morningn staple's the gold standard for heart health. Tons of research shows that eating any variety(but especially steel-cut) can reduce your "bad" LDL cholesterol, thanks to oatmeal's high soluble fiber content.
Best Cooking Oil
OLIVE OIL
a Spanish study found just 2 tablespoons oa day almost halves the risk of heart disease. Why? It's high in fat, but the sort it contains- monosautrated fatty acid-has been shown to lower cholesterol and prevent blood clotting.
Best Dinning-Out Dish
SALMON and TUNA
These fish are filled with omega-3 fatty acids, which help lower cholesterol, blood pressure, and triglycerides. Eat them at least twice a week, the AHA recommends.
Best Pantry Staple
BEANS
The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey found that people who had beans four times a week had a 22 percent lower risk of developing heart disease. That's because eating them can drop cholesterol levels, Brill says.
Happy Healthy Eating
