Fitness
When you think of the word fitness, what comes to mind?
Maybe things like....
Not Me
Are you kidding me?
That was something I worried about when I was younger?
I'll never be fit!
Why am I reading this?
Fitness is NOT all about being the skinny chick/muscle man you see running in the park or at the gym. Yes, some get the beautiful benefits of being skinny and muscular. At the same time, some people who are fit are not necessarily the skinny models.
Here is my point....
I don't consider myself a fitness expert by any stretch of the imagination. I'm just someone who has been in a place of being VERY obese, very down on myself, miserable, not able to take part in activities, and not being able to get into rides because of it. I have NOT attained my ultimate goal BUT everyday that I make smart food choices, drink my water and eat the right foods, I'm headed in that direction!!!!!!! I'm always excited when I get to go for a run and I'm able to run farther before my walk break (yes, I do talk walk breaks), able to run up a killer hill, and my breathing is controlled. Those may seem like small things but I have been in a place where the thought of running "for fun" was completely foreign and crazy. Today, I am more fit than before and continuing on my journey.
How about you?
Are you fit?
Do you wish you were fit?
How bad do you want it?
Just something to think about today. By the way, looking forward to hearing back from Danielle and Adam about being guest bloggers on here!!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!! Here is their link if you want to go and check them out. http://nakedear.wix.com/teamgenetics#!Home/mainPage
Also, trying my hand at writing a "Fitness Plan" for an awesome friend, Tara, and see how it goes. SUPER EXCITED!!!!!!! She may kill me but we will have fun in the process!!!!!!

Did You Sweat Today????
This is probably one of my favorite sayings. I know I just love it when I go to the gym and I have sweat pouring, my shirt is soaked, my hair is wet under my ball cap and sweat is dripping into my eyes and I look over and.....there they are. Those sweet people that walk around and look lost or they get on a machine and go 1000 miles an hour and appear as though they may collapse. If I knew they would not be totally offended, I would leave my machine and offer to help.
Why do you go to the gym?
Why do you exercise?
Personally, it is for mental and physical well being. I need to loose more weight and in the mean time gain some fitness, and muscle strength. I will be the first to tell you that if I go to the gym, work out and don't break a sweat, I don't feel like I did anything. Its almost like I have to sweat to know that I worked out. I don't wear makeup when I go. I typically take off all my jewelry, especially my rings, because my fingers swell. Ball cap of course, just because I always have. Sunglasses are a must if I am outside. My clothes don't even match half the time. I'm not there to impress anyone. I'm sure that the first time Amber, that I work with, met me to run may have been frightened.....hahahahaha.
Life is crazy at the moment and getting in my runs is difficult at times but determination will over rule that!!!!!!!!
I have 2 new friends I have met and they have a fitness buisiness. I am going to ask them to write a post or two. I'm really hoping they will. You can't help but be motivated by them. I'll keep you posted!!!!!
See you tomorrow....get out and enjoy your day. Get your sweat on!!!!!!!!

You have got to be kidding me!!!!!!
So, I chose to watch TV this morning. Probably should not have. I was blown away with what they were discussing. Get ready for this......
For the low price of about $1800 you can go and see a physician and he will place a tube down your nose to your stomach. He will have to leave the tube hanging out of your nose to attach to a pump that is going to feed you. 800 whopping calories per day. No eating allowed. Now, you get to do this for 10 days prior to your wedding, reunion or whatever event you have coming up.
I thought I was going to throw up. Then I thought I could ring their necks!!!! What are their bridal portraits going to look like with an NG tube hanging out their nose. Can you say "photoshop?". I was saddened at the fact that people are really doing this. What in the world are we thinking? Working at the hospital, most of the patients that I see with NG tubes don't leave their room because of the tube hanging out. It was totally sad.
So, all of that being said....if you would like to pay me the small fee of $1800 I would be more than happy to help you loose weight and I promise, I won't put a tube down your nose. Nor will I only allow you 800 calories a day. I will push you. I will keep you accountable. I will encourage you. I can be your personal "Jillian". The key.....YOU HAVE TO WANT IT AND WORK!!!
What do you think? Would you? I think you know how I feel....haha!

New Years Resolutions.......REALLY??!!!
So it is now April.....are you still sticking with your New Years Resolutions? Have you met your goals? Are you still working on them? Have you just basically thrown in the towel and said "Forget It!"
I have had my moments of wanting to throw in the towel. Just tell myself to forget it and get on with life. That is not an option. My sweet husband will always ask...."Have you been for a run today?" or "Have you been to the gym lately?". He will be the first to tell you that when there is no sweat in my life, that my attitude and entire being changes. It's all about getting my workout done. It's about getting my run in. It completely changes me!!!!!!
Amber (bless her heart) is still run/waling with me. Trina is going to go again I hope and we have even had a few more say that they are interested in joining us but none as of yet. It's just so much better running with friends than running alone. There is a time and place for running alone but when someone volunteers to come with you, don't dare turn it down.
I got the new Runners World. Lots to share from that. Small quotes and things to consider. I am going to post them on the next post and then we can discuss them or you can just agree with them.
Exciting times!!!!!! Half-Marathon in Myrtle Beach is coming soon!!!!!!!!!!!

Whooohooooo !!!!!!!!!
So sorry this is a little late but it's never to late to congratulate someone!!!!!! Congrats to my friend Trina. I'm so very proud of her. She accepted the challenge to go for a run with Amber and I. This girl was serious. She showed up in her uniform from work. She knew if she went home, she would not come. I was totally blown away!!!!! Amber and I encouraged and pushed. She did it!!!!! Walk/ran 2 full miles with a smile on her face. I can't wait for her to come and pin us again!!!!!!! You go girl!!!!!!!
