That TIME Again- Part 2

Well, the other day I shared about “What do we do now?”  It’s that weird time between Christmas and New Years and we are tired and ready to get back to the “normal” of what our lives look like.  Kids return to school and the work schedule resumes back to a normal day.  The idea that we are heading into a new year AGAIN!  We even wonder where in the world did the year go.  It was 365 days, 52 weeks and 12 months are GONE!  The questions that seem to come to our mind at this time EVERY year!  
1- Where did time go?
2- What did I accomplish this year?
3- What do I want to accomplish this coming year in 2018?
Those are the 3 questions that have really been pressing in on me over the last 2 weeks.  I took place in a course on line about learning how to set Goals for the new year in my business.   It was something that came at the perfect time.  It was exactly what I needed.  
Here is what really hit home for me.  Plan your Goal based on what a BIG GOAL that you have set for the year 2018 and then back it up and think through how you are going to get there and what is going to be required of you and maybe your family.  Exactly what does that look like?  Here is the “Mind Blown” moment.......Plan it out 3 months at a time.  WHHHHAAATTTTT?  Yes, exactly, back it up and think about what is required and plan it out 3 months or 12 weeks at a time.  
So what does that look like?  
Get out a few pieces of paper and let’s do this!!!!
First- Think about what you were able to accomplish and felt good about last year.  
Pen to paper and WRITE- Don’t over think it.  Time yourself.  You have 10 minutes.  Make your list. I’m not going to suggest things that you could write because I don’t want you to use them.  
Second- Write down your BIG GOAL for 2018.  That one BIG THING you want to accomplish that you want to see yourself accomplish by the end of the year. 
Third- Think about 3 Goals that you would like to accomplish in the next 3 months.  
What do they look like?  
Just a reminder of what we mentioned yesterday - Work- Faith-Family-Business etc.  
Pick 3 Goals that you want and write them down.  
Make sure you leave room between the 3 Goals.  
Fourth- Now, think about each GOAL and write down underneath each one- 
What is required of you? 
What will be required of your family? 
What do you need to do different? 
What do you need to do to step out of your comfort zone?

Now, I want you to post them.  HUH???  Yes, I want you to share them with your spouse, your BFF, your accountability partner, your business partner. You can even share it in the comments below or send me an email.  This is a challenge.  It’s difficult to consider.  I know it’s hard to dream about what  we want.  We get so wrapped up at times about what others say that we should need or what we should do or what we should be doing.  This is something can change your outlook.  It’s ok to DREAM and REACH for YOUR GOALS!!!!!!  

I will share mine tomorrow and you can see what is on my Goal List for 2018.  I can’t ask you to do something if I don’t do it myself.!

It’s Almost THAT Time!

Well, it's the week after.  Christmas Eve and Christmas Day have come and gone.  We have enjoyed family, friends, food, faith, festivities, lights and even more food.  We have relaxed and enjoyed time away from work. We have shopped on line until we thought our fingers would fall off and shopped in stores until our feet were killing us. We are now on a first name friendship with the UPS, FedEx and the postal carrier in our neighborhoods.  We indulged in those food treats that we only get or make during the holiday season.

We have decorated and redecorated. We have sent emails and Christmas card through Snail-Mail.  It has been a crazy awesome time for the last 4- 6 weeks.

So what do we do now?

A new year is coming and we all know what comes with New Years.......a RESOLUTION!  How many of us make a resolution and by January 10th our first thought is ......WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!!!!

I have a challenge for you.  I don't want you to make a YEAR GOAL!  Say WHAT?????

I don't even want you to make a 6 month goal!!!!  Really?????

Yeap.  JUST A 3 Month Goal.  WHOOP!!!!!


I just want you to think of 3 to 5 things.  They can be anything.  Just pick 3 to 5 things that you want to achieve.  You have 3 months to complete those 3-5 things.  It's not complicated.  Do not over think it!  Just think what you would like to accomplish that is do-able in the next 3 months.  So from January 1st to March 31st I want you to chose what those things are.

They could be-

Health Goals

Fitness Goals

Spiritual Goals

Financial Goals

Business Goals

Work Goals

They could be whatever you want them to be.

Stop With The Excuses!!!!


So, I wanted to share this and figured that this is the best place to do it.  It was one of those moments when I found that I had to stand still and bite my tongue and really almost bit it completely off.
I was standing in line at a restaurant.  There were 2 women in front of me.  They were approximately my age so I could relate as far as that goes.  As they were having this conversation with each other, I was not the only one that could have heard this conversation.    Their discussion was about their health and their lifestyle, so to speak.  They were ordering off the menu that did not have a lot of what you would call healthy choices.  One woman said tot the other......


"Well, I went to see my doctor the other day and they asked if I was watching what I was eating and working on my cholesterol and exercising.   I of course said, No!  Who in the world has time for that right now at the holidays and year end stuff going on.  I just decided that I will just not worry about it until next year and then figure it out. "

The other woman....

She totally agreed with her and she is just going to eat and enjoy her holidays and she will do something later IF SHE HAS TIME.

Let me just tell you, I WAS DYING!!!!!!  My brain was going 100 miles an hour and I could have just vomited fitness, healthy living and healthy lifestyle all over them.

I could have given them the statistics.

I could have preached at them.

I could have tried to convince them to change

I could have given them my business card

I could have literally GONE OFF!

The question is.....what good would it have done?

Absolutely NONE!!!!!

They had already determined that they were NOT interested.

They had resolved to do NOTHING right now.

They are WAITING until after the HOLIDAYS!


Here is my take and what I would have shared if I had known them....I mean really know them.

I would have encouraged them to not wait.  Start today.  Start simple and easy.  Allow your self a cheat meal a week at that Christmas Party and then keep moving with your workouts.  If you allow yourself to just "eat whatever and however much" you want, you will likely gain anywhere between 5-10 pounds and now you have added that to where you are and you have that much more to loose.  Not to mention, your blood pressure is up because of additional sodium and the extra sugar and the not so healthy foods at these awesome Holiday parties.


PLEASE DON'T WAIT!!!!!!!
Today is your day!

I can't do it for you.

You have to want it.

Just a thought

You know how sometimes when you look at something.
Something that is just the normal everyday thing.
Something that you see everyday.
And Then.......
That thing that is normal all of the sudden smacks you in the face!
Well, that would be this picture.
Now to look at this it seems very ordinary.
It’s 2 10 pound weights and 2 15 pound weights.
These are the weights that I use everyday and they are very ordinary.
BUT IT HIT ME!!!
The total of these weights laying on my bed represent pounds that I have lost.
There are 50 pounds laying here!
I can hold them in my hands and workout.
I can remember when I was physically carrying around this much weight and walking the stairs was a struggle.  I can remember not being able to get in a bumper car or a swing at the fair because I couldn’t snap the seatbelt that was required.  I’ve now gotten rid of this plus more and I can not backwards.  I would like to get rid of 2 more 15 pound weights.  That is my goal.  I’m very excited and very aware.  Every time I workout I am reminded of where I am coming from.  I’m so grateful for this journey!
One of the best parts of this journey is taking others with me.

Easy Spaghetti Sauce


Taken from my Mom's recipe and I when I make it, I make a lot of it.  We usually enjoy for dinner and then I freeze the left overs OR I use it for my meal prep for the week if I make it on the weekend.  I made it this week because I missed doing meal prep this past weekend and it was super easy!

So let's get going!!!!!!

1 Crockpot

Set on LOW for 8-10 hours

2 small onions diced





1 bell pepper-any color-diced

3 medium carrots- peeled and chunked or finely diced

2 cloves of garlic- diced

1 Tbsp. Sugar

Salt and Pepper to taste

2 heaping Tbsp. of Italian seasoning

1 Tbsp. of chili powder

1 pound of ground meat (your choice-turkey, beef or chicken) browned and drained

2 Large cans of diced tomatoes

1 can tomato sauce

1 can of tomato paste.


Combine all ingredients in a large crockpot and put on to cook while you are at work or cook over night.  Taste and adjust seasoning as it cooks or when completed cooking.
**carrots are for the sweetness and if you wish to leave out the sugar you can.**

**Add in's- Meatballs!  If you want to make your own, my recipe is here.  You can also use the ones in the meat department or the frozen section if you choose.  I cook them at the same time with the sauce.

Serve of your favorite pasta, use in lasagna, or use with a Meatball Sandwich or with tortellini.  I hope you enjoy!!!!!

80 Day What????????



Yes, there is a new fitness program coming out called 80 Day Obsession.  It's from Autumn Calabrese, the creator of 21 Day Fix, 21 Day Fix Extreme, Country Heat and co-creator of Hammer and Chisel.  It is the longest program next to P90X.

It's different

It uses different equipment.

It's nutrition guide is different.

They chose to give a little "Sneak Peek" into 80 DO and called it "A Little Obsessed".  They filmed it live on Beachbody on Demand and it was AMAZING!!!!!!  There were so many people trying to do the 5 days that we "broke the internet" 2 days and they decided to do it FOR 2 WEEKS!!!!!  
It was INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!


I am so pumped about this program.  I can not wait for it to get here!!!!  The A Little Obsessed will be back on BOD (Beachbody On Demand) in December and it will stay there until the new program comes out.


This is a HARD program.  I can't lie.  It is not meant to be easy.  What I have seen coming out of the Test Group.....I WANT THAT!!!  
Determination has kicked in at 110% and I'm going after it!!!

So why share all of this??????


I want you to go with me.

I don't want to do this alone.

I need accountability and someone who REALLY WANTS THIS!!!!

The Little Black Dress!!!!!!



Check This Out!!

I have a goal for a Little Black Dress for December 8th.

I bought it in NYC the last time we were there.  I actually saw it on a manaquin and bought it off the hanger and NEVER tried it on.  I put it on when I got home and literally held my breath afraid it would not fit and then what was I going to do because I bought it in New York City!!!

I had decided to go all out and wear it and TOTALLY rock my Little Black Dress.

BUT

-We had a luncheon at work

-Thanksgiving was coming

-Left Overs would happen

-We would go back to NYC on 12/1

-My parents were coming to visit

-Holiday treats are coming in to work

I had EVERY reason to just say......FORGET THIS! 
I could go back and get a stretchy, comfy black dress and hide in it.  
NOPE!!!  
NOT THIS TIME!!!!



I zero'd in on my containers.

I cut the sugar

I ate clean

I made it through 2 weeks of ALO (A Little Obsessed) (I'll explain that in another post)

I'm going through 21 Day Fix Extreme

I've ramped up my weights.

I WILL wear my dress!

I will feel confident that night in my dress!

I'm an all or nothing person.  I have not always been that way but over the past year I have learned a lot about myself.  I have determined that if I say that I am going to do something.......I'm In 110%!!!!!!


Sooooooooooo........I will be posting pictures on 12/9 of me in my Little Black Dress.
