Testimony Tuesday!!!!

So yesterday was my 2nd day of this CHALLENGE GROUP workout.  I absolutely LOVE IT!!!!  I will admit when I have seen it on TV I was always thinking......"It can't be that hard"....well.....I WAS WRONG!!!!!!

I typically do my routines early in the morning in the garage since Little Man is at home.  I laughed at myself the first day.  I was not created a dancer!!!  Yesterday was better.  Today, I am so sore I can barely walk but it is one of those DVD's that is so much fun and at the same time I am drenched with sweat by the time I am finished!!!!!!  It's a blast!!!!!!  If you are looking for a new routine to stretch you into something new...this is it!!!!!

Star Saturday

 
 
Well, everyone probably knows this man.  Tony Horton is known for his fitness, clean eating and training.  Started with Power 90.  I remember when that came out.  I had some GREAT friends that jumped on board and completely changed them.  It was incredible. 
So now we have Power 90, P90X, P90X+, 10 Minute Trainer and I am sure there are books and more videos on YouTube than you can imagine.
 
Have you done one of his programs?  I have the P90X.  Do  you want a challenge? Do you want to change? Do you want to be pushed to your limits? This is an incredible program.  Through Beachbody, you can chat with all of the other people that are taking on the task of making it through his program.  Life got in the way of my finishing it the first time......I WILL BE BACK!!!!    P90X has such a mix of exercises.  Tony calls it using muscle confusion.  He is exactly right.  Anything from 90 minutes of yoga to 16 minutes of Ab Ripper X (which is appropriately named) and of course my favorite....PLYOMETRICS!

Wednesday Workout!!!!

OK, well this was fun trying to figure out exactly what to put on this day.  Something I keep reading and seeing a lot posted all over Facebook and Pinterest and even on Twitter for that matter.  AMRAP.  The first time I saw AMRAP I thought it was a typo to be honest.  But then the more I read the more I thought it was an awesome workout. As Many Reps As Possible. (See...no typo..hahaha)  So here is your challenge.  I think it something fun.  Something you can do inside or outside.  I know here in Mississippi today, they are advising people to stay inside and don't go outside due to the heat and humidity.  So here is your Workout Wednesday AMRAP!!!!!  How many can you do??????

Here we are on Testimonial Tuesday.  I'm so excited!  I'm looking for others to share about their journey or their goals that they are striving toward.  In the mean time while I am looking for those people, I will share what I am up to at present.  I have a great friend named Danielle.  You find her link on the sidebar for Facebook.  Dani B Fit is the way it's listed but she has recently changed the name to MISFit if you want to look her up and "Follow" her.  She is a Coach with Beachbody.  I am really excited because I am hoping to be a part of Beachbody in the near future. 

Anyway, she has these "Challenge Groups".  I finally committed to one.  It's 60 days.  Anyone can do something for 60 days right?  Well, the Challenge I got........
I have to admit, I burst into total laughter when I pulled it out of the box.  I have known and been told for years that I have NO BEHIND!!!!  I might actually have one when I get done with this!!!!  Anyway, Danielle is a Fantastic Coach!!!!  Hopefully I will be as good when my time rolls around. I start my Challenge next Monday on July 18th.  I'm super excited!!!!!!!  I will keep you posted.  I have a bunch of new recipes, measurements to take and before and after pictures to make.  I may share some information here.

Quinoa black bean burgers

 Per serving (1 burger): 235 calories, 5g fat, 11g fiber, 10g protein
These super-healthy patties make a mouthwatering, protein-rich vegetarian alternative to hamburgers. Serve them up on a whole-wheat bun with garlic lemon mayo, fresh raw spinach, sliced tomato, and caramelized onions for a lunch or dinner hit.

  Ingredients:
1 15-oz. can black beans, well-drained
 ¾ cup cooked quinoa
 ¼ cup finely diced bell pepper
 2 tbsp very finely chopped onion
 ½ cup whole-wheat breadcrumbs
 1 large clove minced garlic
 ½ tbsp cumin
 ½ tsp salt
 1 tsp hot sauce
 1 egg
 3 tbsp olive oil

  Directions:
Roughly mash black beans with a fork (there should be some whole blacks beans left in a sort of paste). Stir in quinoa, pepper, onion, breadcrumbs and garlic. Stir in seasonings. Stir in egg. Form into 5 patties. Bake at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes, flipping half way. Serve on a bun and add your favorite toppings.
 Makes 5 servings
