Why.....
Why are you smiling all the time?
This was the message that I received in my Facebook Messenger the other day. It really caught me off guard at first and then I thought about it. I went back and looked at my post on Facebook and Instagram and I realized that in probably 99% of my "Selfie" pictures, there was a smile on my face. Well, she had a legitimate question! I had never realized it or thought about it. She was right. So I had to think and ask myself, "Why are you smiling all the time?"
This was my response......
It's a choice!!! I choose everyday whether I am going to get up and get my workout done and there are times when there is not a smile on my face when I start my workout. At the end, there is a smile because whatever had me down and out before hand was now dealt with and was gone. Most of the time it was because I was not awake yet and I had not had a cup of coffee yet! Snapping that smiling selfie every single day is a choice. I see and hear and talk to people all the time about life circumstances and it makes me realize that I have so much to be thankful for and I have a real reason to smile.
Let's take a look at some reasons WHY you can smile...... I am not taking any of this lightly because these are real thoughts and circumstances in some lives of the people that we know and love!
I could say that I don't have anything to wear when I have an entire closet of clothes.
I could say that I don't have anything to eat when I have an entire pantry of food.
I think about the sore muscles that I have and make up the excuses not to workout and remember there are those who would give anything to get up and go for a walk.
I think about the complaining that I do because I had rather stay at home today and not go to work but I think of those that are loosing everything because they have lost their job.
I could complain about my friends and family but I remember that there are people that have lost their families/friends and they are alone.
So when I think about this and put things into perspective and I can choose to smile in the midst of circumstances because there are others that would love to have my "problems".
So, YES, I am smiling in 99% of my pictures because I have made the choice!!!! You have a choice just like I do. What will your choice be the next time that you want to complain? It's all about perspective!!!

Transformation Tuesday
First- I have not made my goal yet but I am on my way!
Second- I am a work in progress!
Third- I am super excited (and a little nervous) to share my pictures
This was a 3 week program. It was a total ramp up style work out with a new Super Trainer named Chris Downing! It started out with 25 minute workouts. Second week was 35 minute workout and then the last week was a 45 minute workout. It was cardio and weights and pushed me so much further! I knew I could sweat/glisson but Oh My Word......Every workout was more and more of a sweat-fest!!! The nutrition plan was incredible. If you have the crazy idea that if you are doing a program, that you can't eat and you will starve......You are Sadly Mistaken!!!! There were days when I didn't think I could eat all the food that I was suppose to! Not to mention, there was an approved cookbook with recipes for each week. I'm telling you, this was an incredible 3 weeks!!!!!
The pictures below- My January kick off and then the current changes. I'm super excited to keep this going and see what happens by the end of the year!!!! Have you started and then stopped? I have......but NOT any more!!!! I'm in it for the long haul!!!!

Family First
As many of you know, we are a military family. We have one in the military that we are extremely proud of and the adventure that they are on. I signed up for the Virginia Beach Rock N Roll Half Marathon with the vision of returning to my passion and for the memories that the place holds. Being a military family, we are at the mercy of the military and do as they request and that is ok.
They have requested him to another base for an extended period of time and it falls during this particular race. No matter what I have signed up for, family always comes first and this time is no different. All of that being said, I will not be attending the Virginia Beach Rock N Roll Half Marathon because this family time is more important than any race. I wanted to take the time to tell all of you thank you so very much for all of your love and support and your encouragement over the last 4 months of training. I will return to a race but just not sure which one, where or when.
I'm excited for the new adventure for our family! We would covet your prayers in the meantime.

Flashback Friday!!!!!!
I wanted to share this with you all. I run accountability groups and challenge groups and even FREE GROUPS!!!! I get so much push-back when I tell my ladies in the group to do their pictures for the before and afters. When looking through some pictures last night I ran across these two and made the post below.
This is WHY you do the Before and the After Pictures!!!!!!!! We look at ourselves every day and we can very easily get frustrated because we don't see it. BUT......when you put them next to each other....YOU CAN SEE IT!!!!!! So if you are in a group and your Coach tells you to take the before pictures.....TAKE THE PICTURE!!!!!!

I was going across pictures and realized this was just like a year ago. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I knew that we had made some changes and I knew things were different but had no idea just how much! WOW!!! Hard work is paying off and I am so excited to see what happens next!!! Seeing pictures like this makes me want to work THAT much harder to just see how far I can go!!!!!
Tomorrow morning is time for the before and after pictures from just a 3 week program. I am excited to see those!!!!! Are you ready for a change?

Week 2 of Shift Shop!
Week 2 Shift Shop
Who in the world ever thought that adding 10 minutes would change anything. It was absolutely amazing!!!!! I was amazed!
I had no idea that I could sweat so much. It was disgustingly AWESOME!!!!
I had my little sheets made in my planner to check off my containers for the nutrition plan. Each week the carbs (the little yellow container) decrease every week. This coming week, there are NO YELLOW CONTAINERS!!!!
I will be taking my pictures in the morning on Monday. I was absolutely STUNNED last week so I am ready!!!!!!
It's going to be an incredible WEEK!!!!!!!

WEEK 1-Shift Shop
Well, I have started the 21 day workout program called SHIFT SHOP by Chris Downing. I never dreamed I would be hoping and jumping and doing so many crazy things with these agility markers. We had to write goals or positive affirmations on them. Mine are below! 👇🏻👇🏻
I have made a little sheet that I keep in my planner to check of my small container and it's a SHIFT for sure!!!!!
I have watched the Test Group and the Coaches that were able to do the program before it went public and the TRANSFORMATIONS WERE AWESOME!!!!! My first thought was....."I'm not sure I can do this!" Totally the wrong thought.
I have access to a lot of LIVE videos from Chris himself and have been sharing those with my Challenge Group. He is the kind of trainer that you can sit and listen to for days and keeps it so very REAL!!!!! It's just been the SHIFT that I needed!!!!

I am walking with my head held high!
I am focused!
I have had a SHIFT in my FOCUS!!
Hang on world........I'm changing!!!!!
I'm going for ROUND 2 when I'm finished and would love to have you join me!!!!!
